HAPPY FRIDAY SPEAKIES:
Joey Z stopping by to wish all my Guys and Dolls a great Friday and hopefully a great weekend.
Let's see the holidays we celebrate today and this weekend in general.
AUNT'S DAY - I had two favorite aunts one named Louise and the other Josephine. Josephine passed away many years ago. She was kind and sweet to Roe and me. My aunt Louise I believe is still alive, but I haven't heard from her in years, maybe one day I will. Time erases memories and that is sad; that's all I have to say about Aunt's Day.
PLANT A FLOWER DAY - I love to plant my flowers and hope this year will be a good one for me to decorate some of the landscaping of our house.
LEARN WHAT YOUR NAME MEANS - My first name is Joseph which originated from the Hebrew, meaning "GOD WILL INCREASE." The standard Hebrew name Yosef has numerous names used mostly in English, French, German and Polish to name a few. In the Old Testament, Joseph is Jacob's eleventh son and Rachel's first. In the New Testament, Joseph is the husband of Mary and the father of Jesus. I like the Polish way of pronouncing it "Jozef." Check out the meaning of your first names on various websites.
March 9 is "NATIONAL CRAB-MEAT DAY." - The last time I ate crab was Christmas Eve with my son Joey, his wife Elizabeth and Roe. We enjoyed King Crab legs with butter and Elizabeth showed us the way to get all the meat you can out of them. I still want to try a soft shell crab sandwich and I know my son Jeff knows of a place by him that serves it right.
March 10, we honor the name Mario, which I think is a great name. We almost named one of our sons Mario but he did not look like the name would fit him. My daughter-in-law, Samantha's brother's name is Mario. So for all you Mario's out there celebrate your names and raise a toast to me.
Have a great weekend, see you soon.

Down along the Delaware & Chesapeake Canal I was with a co-worker who was a bit on the uppity side. Come lunch time there are few places and not even a Mickie D's for miles, but I did know of a pound that was a bit on the "seedy" sided, not dirty just run down. A lobster or crab pound is where the boats can sell their catch live before marketing to a broker. For about $2 you got a shedder crab sandwich. Just nice and simple, a crab on a bun with a side of tartar sauce. He was reluctant to even eat there but the look on his face was priceless when he saw my sandwiches come out. A bun with all of these little legs and of course the occasional crunch. I don't think "Mister GQ" even got through his burger.
Skipper
They say that you have to watch the crabs molt (shed skin), for a night before till the night after a full moon. Watching with a flashlight in the tank you have to grab them the second they molt and than flash freeze them.
Thanks for the post Skipster, my wife and I at Shaffer's Canal House on the Chesapeake Canal. Great place, however long gone. Have to get some crab at Publix.
