Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

I'M A GROUCH AND I LIKE MUSHROOMS

GOOD MONDAY MORNING GUYS AND DOLLS:

mushrooms-EDIT mushrooms-EDIT.jpg photo

SOON YOU WILL CATCH THE DRIFT OF MY POST HEADLINE.  FIRST OF ALL AS USUAL, I HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GREAT WEEKEND AND READY TO START THE A WEEK OFF WITH A BANG.  NOW YOU WILL SEE WHAT MY HEADLINE IS ABOUT.

GROUCH DAY - I THINK EVERYONE HAS A GROUCHY STREAK IN THEM AND IT COMES OUT LIKE A COBRA IN A WOVEN BASKET WHEN SOMEONE HITS THE RIGHT NOTE.  SOMETIMES I FIND MYSELF A REAL GROUCH THAT'S WHY I WROTE MY BOOK TO LET OUT MY FRUSTRATIONS.  AS I CAN STILL SEE NOW THE IDIOTS OF THE WORLD HAVE NOT CHANGED.  I CAN ONLY HOPE FOR THE BEST TO COME ONE DAY.  SO IF YOU WANT TO BE A GROUCH, THIS IS YOUR DAY ENJOY!

POETRY DAY - I'M NOT A GREAT READER OF POETRY, BUT MY MIND IS WORKING ON ONE THAT I WILL BE PUTTING ON PAPER AND MAYBE SEND IT OUT TO A LITERARY SOCIETY FOR THEIR VIEW AND COMMENTS.  I'LL LET YOU KNOW.

SCHOOL BUS SAFETY DAY - JOEY Z IS ALL FOR THIS HOLIDAY.  PRACTICALLY EVERY WEEK ON THE NEWS DOWN HERE SOME SCHOOL BUS CARRYING STUDENTS WAS IN AN ACCIDENT.  HERE IS THE KICKER, SOME OF THE DRIVERS ON DRUGS, BOOZE BUT MOST OF THEM DRIVING AFTER THEIR LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED. COME ON SCHOOL BOARDS CHECK WHO YOU HIRE.  ARE YOU THAT DAMN STUPID?  WAKE UP!  THAT IS MY GROUCH COMING OUT TODAY.

AS FAR AS FOOD GOES IT IS SAUERKRAUT WEEK.  WHAT IS A HOT DOG, OR KNOCKWURST WITHOUT THE KRAUT?  LIKE AN ANGEL WITHOUT THEIR HARP.  OH HOW COULD I FORGET KIELBASA AND KRAUT, POLAKS EVERYWHERE IN THEIR GRAVES ARE TURNING OVER.  SORRY MY FELLOW COUNTRYMEN AND WOMEN.

MUSHROOM DAY - WHEN I WAS LITTLE I HATED MUSHROOMS.  NOW I LIKE THEM ON A STEAK BUT MY FAVORITE IS ROE'S STUFFED MUSHROOMS.  I CAN NOT GIVE OUT HER RECIPE UNDER THE PLENTY OF NO MORE MUSHROOMS.  ENJOY THEM TODAY AND HAVE A GREAT ONE.

Ah, the one thing I'll miss most with the demise of the Polonia Restaurant is the dark but slightly sweeter Polish Kraut (bigos), with the tiny bits of pork or kielbasa in it.

Joe, thanks for the concern last week and you were right, I was in a bad way. Then, to add insult to injury, a nerve in a tooth went. Oh, woe is me and praise the Lord but pass the ... antibiotics.

SKIPSTER: GLAD TO SEE YOU ARE UP AND AROUND, NICE TO HAVE YOU BACK. BELIEVE ME I'VE HAD THOSE DAYS TOO. SEEMS THERE IS A DR. APPT. EVERY WEEK. STILL HAVE NOT FOUND A GOOD POLISH RESTAURANT DOWN HERE BUT FOUND A GREAT SMALL GERMAN PLACE WITH GREAT FOOD AND A GREAT WOMAN OWNER. KEEP IN GOOD HEALTH BUDDY. DO YOU REMEMBER A FELLOW WHO MAY HAVE LIVED NEAR YOU JOHN BOREK OR BORAK? LET ME KNOW.

Joe there were two names that come to mind similar to that.

John Bojarski who was in my class, a year behind you and John Bozak who was in my class as "an older" student, he lived on Poland Avenue (at the top of Spruce), and Bojarski lived near Pine.

Ah, the days before automatic passing and graduation. I actually had two fellows in my class who drove to Saint Hedwigs, one named Sam who I ran into a few years ago. The nuns made them park a few blocks away, down by Pete's Welding shop.

SKIP: I HEARD THE NAME JOHN BOJARSKI. THE BORAK IS WAS THINKING OF WAS AN ALTAR BOY AT ST. HEDWIGS WHO TAUGHT ME THE TRADE, ALONG WITH A GUY NAMED WARREN STEELE. JOHN BOZAK WAS IN MY CLASS A REAL CLOWN.
