GOOD MORNING GANG,
Hope all is well and everyone enjoyed the weekend. Today, is a little history lesson, so let's get started.
HELLO MOMMY:
1836 - Yamaoka Tesshu - Great Japanese swordsman and master of Kendo.
1922 - Judy Garland - Actress/Singer starred in many movies, most famous, "The Wizard of Oz." Toto we're not in Kansas anymore.
1932 - Gardner McKay - To me a good actor, he starred in a TV series in the late 50's called "Adventures in Paradise." He wore a Tiki God around his neck and that became a craze to wear one at that time. I bought mine on the boardwalk at Seaside Heights, NJ. Look up his name on the net and maybe you will recognize his face and the TV Show.
1933 - F. Lee Bailey, attorney in the Sam Shepard murder case. The one-armed man.
I THINK THESE GUYS WENT UP BUT I COULD BE WRONG:
1946 - Jack Johnson, 1'st Black Heavyweight Champion, dies in car crash.
1971 - Michael Rennie, actor, remember the movie, "The Day the Earth Stood Still." He played the spaceman Klaatu. Who can't remember that famous line told to the robot Gort? "KLAATU BARADA NIKTO.
STUFF THAT HAPPENED TODAY:
1610 - 1'st Dutch settlers arrive from New Jersey to colonize Manhattan Island. I could still hear those first words spoken, "This place ain't got no Tomato Pies."
1752 - Ben Franklin's kite struck by lightening, sends Dr. Emmett Brown, to the future to await the arrival of Marty McFly.
1985 - Coca Cola announces they are bringing back their 99-year-old formula. Goes better with rum.
Get back to work Guys and Dolls, have a nice day and stay safe.
