Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

HAPPY JUNE 6 SPEAKIES

Good Morning Guys and Doll,

Hope your day is off to a great start, I have a doctor appointment today so my day is partially shot.
This month and day we honor:

FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES MONTH - Some I like and some not.  Love Fugi Apples, Red and Yellow Delicious, Winesap and a McIntosh, just to name a few.  I love any type of grapes, melons, strawberries, blueberries and the list goes on.  Vegetables include celery, tomatoes, corn on the cob, string beans, peas, fried okra, spinach and lettuce to name a few.  Squash is not to my liking, just the sound of it makes me sick "SQUASH."

NATIONAL YO-YO DAY - Not one of my favorite toys growing up.  I could only make it go up and down a few times before the string went all the way out.  Never could do those fancy tricks.

DRIVE-IN MOVIE DAY, FIRST ONE OPENED IN 1933.  The first drive-in opened in Camden, NJ on Crescent Blvd. and was the brainchild of Richard Hollingshead.  With only an initial investment of $30,000 a lot of money in those days the idea spread across the US.  He charged 25 cents per person or per car, with no group rate paying more than One Buck to see the movies.  I still remember the Lawrenceville Drive-In near Trenton, with those boxes hanging onto your window, the smell of the food and of course in the winter, the fog on your windows.

D-DAY ANNIVERSARY - Let's remember all the Armed Forces who landed on Normandy Beach that day and sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Europe.  This includes our Navy, Army and the forces of our allies.  If your Grandfather, Dad or even a relative who lost his life, take time to say a brief prayer or honor them with a moment of silence.

Today is the Y.M.C.A.'s Birthday.  I went with my friend Jack once to the "Y" in Trenton to run track inside.  And now I can only think of that song by the Village People.  If you belong have a great time going.

That's it for me today, have a great one.
