Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

HAPPY JUNE 4 GUYS AND DOLLS

Good Morning Readers,

Just want to remind all you readers, sign-up as followers and you all can post a comment on any of my posts.  Going to make this a short one today, so lets get started.

Weird Holidays for June:

What's the first thing you think of when you hear the word "June"? Many of us think of weddings because, June is known for the large number of marriages that occur over the course of the month. June is named after Juno (Hera). Juno was the goddess of marriage and a married couple's household, so some consider it good luck to be married in this month." So you see we celebrate marriage in the month of June- but did you know we also celebrate Old Maid's Day today.  Roe and I got married in May and celebrated our 35th Anniversary.

JUNE MONTHLY HOLIDAYS:

SEAFOOD LOVER'S MONTH - We are now talking my kind of food, yes fish and I love it.  My favorites are:  Shrimp any way you make it, I'll' eat it, friend, cocktail, peal and eat and any kind of macaroni with shrimp.  Flounder or Fluke a great fish to fry in a beer batter or baked.  The same goes for Cod which is a great Polish fish served on Christmas Eve.  Give me Lobster, Crab, Blue fish, Mussels Marinara, Smoked White fish, Sardines, Clams Casino and many more.  One of my favorites which now is just a once-in-awhile treat is Pickled Herring in a jar or as us Polaks call it Shedzie.  This is the month to enjoy your seafood.

ICE TEA MONTH - I usually make a couple pitchers of Ice Tea a week.  We like Peach Ice Tea, which has a good taste. I remember my Grandmother and Mom brewing tea on the stove and than putting ice cubes, sugar and serving it.  My dad drank that like water.

CHEESE DAY - I love Provolone, that great Italian cheese that smells like dirty sweat socks.  One has to acquire a taste for it and I did.  Roe grew up on that cheese and got me hooked.  Love white American cheese, Sharp Cheddar, Swiss, Gouda, Cottage Cheese and many more.

Have a great day Guys and Dolls and as always, "be careful out there."
