Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

HAPPY HUMP DAY GUYS AND DOLLS

Good Morning Speakies,

I guess I am having a bit of a brain fart memory this week, forgetting all about certain holidays in May, but today I will honor May 7 and 8.

May 7:

National Hoagie Day - I love Italian hoagies.  Back in Trenton the best were made by Italian Peoples Bakery and to me the WaWa on the corner of Liberty St. and Morris Ave.  Down in Florida we have Subway, Firehouse and a few more chain shops.  The best I've had down here was from Publix's Grocery Store.  A nice Italian sub fill with boiled ham, Coppola, Provolone cheese and I order hard Salami with mine.  They top that baby off with lettuce, tomato, jalapeno peppers, oil and vinegar. or the same hoagie with Boar's Head Meats if desired.  WaWa stores have recently opened here and their sandwiches can't compare to Publix.

Scale Day - What a great holiday to celebrate following eating a hoagie, just thought I would mention the pounds one may gain slamming down a large hoagie.

Tuba Day - Great for marching bands or big bands not one of my favorite instruments to listen to.

May 8:

No Sock Day - Most of the people down in Florida wear no socks or those little ankle socks.  Me I prefer regular sweat socks or if I'm just outside no socks at all.  A funny memory came to me back in high school we wore the button down shirts, Bermuda shorts and Penny loafers with no socks.

National Teacher and Red Cross Day - I combined them both.  They deserve the recognition and thanks from everyone in the US and across the world.

Have a great day.

Joe, I'll stick this up here, but you mentioned West Side Story yesterday. I think I read the Wiki on the origins and the gang that was Puerto Rican was originally written in as a Polish gang but with growing influence the changed it in the final draft.

Skip.

Thanks for the thoughts and yep, the docs have been having at me for the past few weeks.

Skipster,

Don't tell me the original movie was between Polaks and Hispanics. What would the Poles be singing, In heaven there is no beer or who stole the kishka while dancing around the play ground. That is too funny, I may have to check that one out.

Take it easy, I'm at the doctors twice a week for something or other. Just remember the sun is shining today.
