Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

Some More Brunswick Ave. Places I Remember

Mack does a great job on his blog with the ability to take pictures of the familiar places in the "Burg". It's fun reading the posts and every ones comments. I would have to depend on Google Earth to send you a picture. I just recalled some more places near my old neighborhood and maybe some of you will remember them also.

The Brunswick Theater
Cassianni's Tomato Pies right across the street from the Brunswick Theater
Top Road Barber Shop
Dale's
Before McDonald's there was a Pix's by the Circle Bowling Alley
Brunswick Hardware, they carried all the fishing supplies one could ask for
Columbus School, we use to play baseball there in the summer
Mercer Savings and Loan, the official Polish bank
There was a small Chinese restaurant next to Top Road Barber Shop, China Garden, not really sure that was the name
Rose's Top Road Woman's Shop, the hottest fashions south of Olden Avenue

Princeton Avenue had a number of small businesses, but to recall their real names is making my brain hurt right now. If any come to mind, I'll let you know. Have a nice evening everyone and remember sign on as a follower.

Do you remember a Pizza place in
the Korvettes shopping center?
Why was this neighborhood called
"Top Road"?
I knew folks from Italian North
Trenton and they spoke of 2 other
churches/schools (?) : Saint
James and Saint Joes-do you remember stuff about these?
I hear St James had its own mini
feast of lights once upon a time.
I remember when Lech Walesa came
to North Trenton:)

Mack: Across the street from my parents was Top Road Tavern, Rose's Top Road Woman's Shop, I guess the group of stores liked the name. St.Joseph's Church and school was in East Trenton, right over the bridge on Olden Ave, right before North Clinton Ave. St. James was on Brunswick Ave. heading towards town, near what was than Jr.1 School. That was an Italian neighborhood. I went to school with Sam Plumeri Jr. who lived off Princeton Ave in that Italian section. I guess it must be like the Burg is now. Long time ago for me. I remember the pizza place in Korvettes but not the name.
