Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

P DAY; PRESIDENTS AND PETS PAY THEM HONOR

Welcome to Monday and President’s Day:

Some of you Speakies are off today due to President’s Day and wishes from Joey Z to enjoy the time off. I remember as a wee Joey Z we use to get off on Lincoln’s B-Day and good old George’s B-Day as well, a double header for February in those days. Better enjoy the day off, the next true holiday for most of us comes in May and that makes the winter longer in my book.

There are some other holidays today one is “LOVE YOUR PET DAY.” I know I talk about the dog we had named Luee he was truly loved in our home. I still can see him lying on his rug and just napping the afternoons away and dreaming of lunch meat. One can never forget a pet because all the love and care you give them. In turn you are paid back a thousand times in their affection, faithfulness and love. So be good to your pet today and give them a little treat on their special day. Posted is a picture of our granddaughter with Luee when she was younger and so was he a real fashion dog as the picture detects and a wonderful dog to play with.

With President’s Day also comes “CHERRY PIE DAY", makes sense good old George Washington had that legend of him chopping down the cherry tree and not did not tell a lie. I like cherry pie if there are no apple or blueberry pies left I’m not one for the sour taste of the cherries that are used in the pie itself.

The toothpick was patented this date in 1872. I wonder how they were shaped back in those days probably the size of a small twig. Well Guys and Dolls enjoy the day and evening and I’ll be back at you soon.
