What a day to celebrate today Myths and Margaritas. First of all the myth for it is “Tooth Fairy Day” that fantasy of early childhood. We all know the story when a child loses a baby tooth and places it under their pillow the tooth fairy replaces the tooth with money. The going rate when I was a kid was 25 cents; I hate to see the cost of inflation these days. What did the tooth fairy look like? A study was conducted in 1984 and most believe the fairy was a female more like a Tinker Bell type pixie, with wings and a wand. Others believed the Tooth Fairy was a child with wings, a ballerina, a dragon and even a bear. Well there’s a little history on the Tooth Fairy. For the little ones to lose a tooth is sometimes frightening so reward them when they do and keep the magic of the Tooth Fairy alive.
Yes it is “Margarita Day” today that cocktail consisting of tequila mixed with orange flavored liqueur and lime or lemon juice and served with salt on the glass rim. It can be shaken and served over ice or blended with ice and served frozen. I’ve only had a few margaritas and most of them were in a restaurant in Cozumel, Mexico that really packed a punch, ask Roe she had that red glow on her nose. The question is who really invented the Margarita? The most accepted of all the stories is that it was invented in October of 1941 at Hussong’s Cantina in Ensenada, Mexico by Don Carlos Orozco. He was experimenting making new drinks when in walked Margarita Henkel the daughter of a German ambassador, she tried it liked it and thus the drink was named.
