Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

BOOZE AND BERRIES = CLEAR MINDS

Happy Thursday Speakies:

Hoping you all had a pleasant Wednesday evening and are enjoying the start of a brand new day. For you drinking Speakies today we celebrate “GRAND MARNIER DAY.” Grand Marnier is a liqueur created in 1880 by Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle. It is made from a blend of cognacs and distilled essence of bitter orange. Grand Marnier is 40% alcohol 80 Proof in US. It is produced in several varieties, most of which can be consumed "neat" can be used in mixed drinks and desserts. It costs a pretty penny also. So if you are a big fan of Grand Marnier get out to your favorite liquor store or bar and have some tonight. Splash a little bit of that orange tasting stuff on some French vanilla ice cream and have a special treat.

If you like fruit it is also “PICK BLUEBERRIES DAY.” I never picked blueberries or other fruit on a farm but as a youth I raided quite a few cherry trees, grape vines, pear trees and my share of apples. I used to like eating those grapes the neighbors grew for wine. Forbidden fruit always tasted better to me and the rest of my merry men that accompanied me on my raids. For an interesting fact at a 2007 symposium on berry health benefits, reports showed consumption of blueberries and other berry fruits may alleviate the cognitive decline occurring in Alzheimer’s disease and other aging conditions.

I would like to take this time to wish “HAPPY BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES” to all my Guys and Dolls celebrating theirs today. Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow.
