First of all I want to thank everyone for their birthday wishes yesterday. Thank you all. Now for some June 3 daily observances we celebrate.
Chimborazo Day - I know your asking me what is that, well my readers a little education is listed below:
The province of Chimborazo is named after the highest Ecuadorian mountain (20.702 feet above sea level), the third highest elevation in America after the Aconcagua in the Chilean-Argentinean border and the HuascarĂ¡n in Peru. The summit of the Chimborazo is the furthest point from the center of the Earth, as it is crossed by the Equatorial line, where the Earth is wider. Thus, if measured from the center of the Earth, the Chimborazo would be the highest mountain on the planet. The majestic Chimborazo has attracted adventurers and scientists such as Humboldt and Whimper and has inspired artists and writers.
We also celebrate National Tailors Day - This is dedicated to all tailors world wide. Men who have made suits, shirts, slacks and altered our clothing after we ate too much or lost weight. Men standing proud with tape measures around their necks and chalk in their fingers, we salute you this day. Now can you have my pants ready on Friday!

Speaking of tailors, back in the 1980's I worked part-time at F.W.Donnelly's on US 1. I had the pleasure to know and work with a fine tailor and a great person, so I'm paying a tribute to Pasquale Verde, he lived on Butler St. in the "Burg". I know he's stichin up those white robes up there and doing a fine job.
