Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

IT'S A DAMN SHAME

News Flash Speakies: Dateline Volusia County Florida

Here is a story I heard on the news this morning and it frosts me because children are involved. Seven Volusia County elementary schools will be without school crossing guards when they open today. “Budget cuts, budget cuts, we have no money to spare,” those famous words that ring throughout Florida effecting the education and the safety of children. County commissioners and school boards wake up. Cut the budgets for the unnecessary building of new homes, stores, arenas and pet projects of your buddies etc.

I hope not one child is injured due to your trying to save money on school crossing guards, shame on you. I hope the other counties whose schools start next week take heed.

Pity that the world has changed so. In our Saint Hedwig's day it was a handful of "Patrol Boys" and right in front of the school and Kalina's store, was "Dot The Cop", who we did not know at the time was not a real cop but she had that fancy white hat like the TPD Traffic Division had.

Don't mess with Dot!
