Blah Blah Blah
Hello Speakies!! I hope everyone is doing ok and hanging in there. The work week is almost over for most of us. I know since my schedule changed I have been making the most of my weekends spending as much time out of the house and doing things with Wifey. Right now we are trying to plan our anniversary trip for Oct. We are both on the same page, we would like to spend a few days in Vegas and then maybe a few days in various parts of California. The planning process is always the most pain in the @ss part of any vacation in my opinion. Hopefully we will come up with some kind of plan soon as Oct will be here before you know it!!

Overdue
Hey Speakies. I know there were not that many post last week and for that i apologize. It was a busy week, so I hope to make up for it this week. Now most of my post are informative, sharing crazy facts and just overall trivial stuff. Well today's post is going to be out a new restaurant Wifey and I had visited this past weekend. I guess you can call it a review, but take what you want out of it.
Well this past Friday night we went out for dinner like we always do for the most part to start off our weekend. We like trying new and interesting places, and low and behold that's exactly what we did. Our Friday night adventure took us to a new place called Hash House A Go Go located at 5350 International Drive. Now we have passed this place several times, but never really looked twice. A local magazine did an article on this restaurant, and we decided to check it out. From the outside the places looks like some old farm silo building you would find in the midwest. Funny because the origin of the place is in San Diego. Their motto is "Twisted Farm Food" and they are not joking!! At a glance of the menu the prices are a little steep, but the size and portion make up for it ten fold. They serve you to two big biscuits to start you off and they are a regular size biscuit on steroids. As for the main course Wifey ordered their Famous Meatloaf and I ordered their Sage Fried Chicken & Bacon Waffle Tower. When the food arrived I believe both of our jaws dropped in the sheer shock of the size. Now just because the portion is big does not always mean it is going to taste good.......well in this case the food was delicious. Wifey enjoyed her meal and what can you say about a chicken and waffle dinner. All in all it's definitely a place to go and enjoy yourself with friends from out of town or in town. If your in the area check it out, you won't be disappointed.

My normal post will continue tomorrow with July almost over and August right around the corner we'll see what's still left to celebrate. Until next time, take care.

Gimme a Beat
Hey Speakies!!! Hope everyone is having a good week so far. This week we celebrate something that is near and dear to my heart....Music!!!! That's right it is Music for Life week. You can ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you music is my life. I love going to concerts and i have a Cd collection that is insane to say the least. At one time I even played in a local band with my brother and a mutual friend of ours. Even though we never reached mega band status, it was one of the best times in my life. Music can do a lot for people. It can make you feel better when your having a bad day or just set the mode as you drive. Now many people may not agree on what's music now at days and I myself do like certain styles of music, but to each their own. So, this week to celebrate music week i purpose that to all speakies is go out and enjoy a concert or better yet maybe discover a new artist. Whatever you do just crank the volume 11 and enjoy!!!!

ZIPPY CELEBRATES JUNE 20
GOOD MORNING FELLOW ZIPSTERS,
Taking over today from the "Big Boss" of the blog and we know who he is. I thought a history lesson of June 20 would be nice so lets see what the day has brought.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES:
First of all to all the Guys and Dolls celebrating theirs today Joey Z and I wish you a great day and many more years to come.
1909 - Actor Errol Flynn, one of my all time favorites. Star of Robin Hood, Captain Blood and They Died with Their Boots On. He was a good looking guy and quite the ladies man in Hollywood, read his bio.
1920 - DeForest Kelley, Dr. McCoy from the original Star Trek series. Better known as "Bones."
1924 - Audie Murphy, the highest medal winner in World War II. The movie "To Hell and Back", was a true story of his life. He later became an actor and starred in many western films. Died at an early age due to a plane crash.
1928 - Martin Landau, actor from the original series "Mission Impossible."
1942 - Brian Wilson, singer and leader of the Beach Boys.
1953 - My gal Cyndi Lauper, singer, "Girls Just Want to have Fun."
TAKEN AWAY TODAY:
1947 - Gangster Bugsy Siegel, shot to death in Beverly Hills, CA. The mob finds all Bugsy.
GREAT THINGS THAT OCCURED TODAY:
1791 - King Louis XVI was caught trying to escape from the French Revolution. Off with his head.
1793 - Eli Whitney, applies for a cotton gin patent. He got it.
1893 - Lizzie Borden, found innocent of murder, she had a great attorney back in those days I guess.
1948 - The show "Toast of the Town", is hosted by Ed Sullivan. I wonder if he used that phrase, "We have a really big show for you tonight."
Hope you all have a great day and I sure Joey Z will bring you up to some food holidays and other happening events in June tomorrow.

HAPPY HUMP DAY GUYS AND DOLLS
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE,
Speaking of Hump Day, has anyone seen that commercial with the camel coming through an office and asking what day it is? One of the best ones. Lets see what is happening today:
June 19:
EAT AN OREO COOKIE DAY - The only way to eat an Oreo is dunking it in milk, hot tea or coffee. I did all three and enjoyed everyone of those cookies. Originally called the "Oreo Biscuit", it was developed and produced in 1912. This cookie has been a favorite of many for years.
MARTINI DAY - Make mine shaken not stirred with 2 olives. The first martini I ever had was at my son Jeff's house. He made something called a Dirty Martini. On our last cruise during the "Meet the Captain Night", I had about 2 martinis. A picture is posted on my main blog page, along with that beautiful woman.
I forgot some food holidays for a few days, so lets pay homage today to:
NATIONAL APPLE STRUDEL DAY - I love apple strudel. I remember as a youngster, I always went to Paramount Bakery in South Trenton for granny to buy some, always delicious. Near my parents house on Brunswick Avenue, we had Eagle Bakery that made a great strudel along with another bakery called Servus Bakery.
CHERRY TARTS - They are okay, not one of my favorites.
As far as birthdays go today, I honor one of my favorite comedians, "MOE HOWARD, THE LEADER OF THE THREE STOOGES." I still watch them today if I catch it on TV. Have a great day and remember what the camel said.

JOEY Z's BODY PARTS WAR
Good Morning Speakies,
Today, I will make up a little fictional war between parts of our bodies. War has lived on the face of earth since mankind began. Prehistoric man fought other tribes for territories and food. Later in history came such classic wars like the Peloponnesian War, The Trojan War, Macedonian War, Cimbric War and of course the conquests of the Roman Empire. Did mankind learn? No! in our own country came the American Revolution, The Civil War, World War I and II, The Korean War and Vietnam and a few more to name and who knows what time will bring once again.
At Epcot in Walt Disney World they had a ride called "Body Wars." The basis of this ride was to learn how our bodies fought off various germs and viruses that threatened our bodies. It was a very interesting ride and story. This is even true today our body organs and immune system are working to protect us.
THE TONSILITES AGAINST THE ADENOIANS
THE EYEBALLEONS AGAINST THE EYELIDIONS
THE PENISTITES AGAINST THE SCROTUMEN
THE GUMITES AGAINST THE ROOTALIANS AND THE EVIL ROTTEN TEETHTONS.
TOE PEOPLE AGAINST THE FUNGASITES
THE LIVERANIANS AND KIDNEYITES AGAINST THE ALCOHOLONS
THE ARMPITIANS AND HAIRITS AGAINST THE STINKCODIANS, WHO WILL FACE ANNIHILATION FROM THE SECRET WEAPON THE SUREDEONS
THE EARDRUMINS AGAINST THE WAXITES
I think I have named enough wars for today, hope you enjoyed and have a great day and evening.

Now just like those Star Trek, Star Wars and other science fiction movies that feature the good versus the evil aliens. What about a fictional war between our body parts that we will never know about? This is strictly a thought of Joey Z, you make like or dislike it but now lets choose the parts for my battle.
LET BODY WARS BEGIN:
THE TONSILITES AGAINST THE ADENOIANS
THE EYEBALLEONS AGAINST THE EYELIDIONS

HAPPY JUNE 17, GUYS AND DOLLS
HELLO SPEAKIES,
As the Florida weather changes in summer, I hope you all had a great weekend. First of all let's check out the holidays for today.
MUD PACK DAY - A great holiday for women to celebrate, along with some other spa treatments, enjoy the day Dolls. If any watched the TV show Frasier and remembers the episode when he and Niles went to the spa and finally were able to get into the Gold Room for treatment. I still see their search for the platinum door. If you have never seen this episode it please watch it. Frasier was one of the greatest comedy shows on TV.
FUDGE DAY - The only fudge I like is on vanilla ice cream. I remember it being sold on the boardwalks of Seaside and Atlantic City, NJ. Too sweet for me, but if you like fudge today is yours.
DISNEYLAND OPENS TODAY - Back in 1955 Disneyland opened its doors to the public and has grown since then into a giant corporation making billions. If Walt was alive you would see a great difference in service and employee relations. Please pay your employees more money and better benefits. OH! I forgot, the stock holders come first. Employees just bend over and Mickey will take care of you. (Personal Opinion of Joey Z).
NATIONAL FORGIVENESS WEEK - I really don't know how to comment on this holiday. Some Guys and Dolls will not forgive and some will. Look into your hearts and decide, only you can choose.
Enough for today, have a great one and I will be back.

WEEKEND WISHES FOR JUNE 14
HELLO SPEAKIES,
My usual Friday stop-bye to wish you all a great Friday and a wonderful weekend. Next week is going to be a busy week, the grand kids are coming down to visit, Roe and I are looking forward to spend the much needed time. Lets see what is happening today:
PIG CALLERS DAY - Here is all I know, "SO WEE." Since I don't own pigs, you can them anyway you like.
FLAG DAY - Mine are out, so get them out for your house.
BLOOD TYPE AWARENESS DAY - Most people don't know their blood type. I found out about my type in 1966 entering the service. So next time you have blood work, find out your type.
POP GOES THE WEASEL DAY - The only one I remember is that clown in a box with the turn handle.
SOME BIRTHDAYS TODAY:
1909 - Burl Ives - Great actor, "Cat on the Hot Tin Roof." He also sang a great Christmas song and I do not know if it was Frosty the Snowman or not.
1921 - Gene Barry - Actor "Bat Masterson." He also starred in the original "War of the World"s and many more.
1928 - Ernesto "Che" Guevara - A Latin American Revolutionary. I saw the movie "Motor Cycle Diary." This movie showed his early life and his fight for the freedom for the South American people in poverty. He was a doctor like his father and tried to help all the sick he could. Great movie but it is in English sub-titles.
1946 - Donald Trump - Butt hole to me.

WELCOME TO JUNE 13 SPEAKIES
GOOD MORNING ALL,
For those Guys and Dolls celebrating their birthdays or wedding anniversaries or any other anniversary on this day, my best wishes go out to you.
Lets see what is popping as far as holidays today:
WEED YOUR GARDEN DAY - I have a small flower garden and the rest of my flowers and plants are in pots. Now for my lawn, it gets so hot that the grass dries out and various bugs attack the my lawn. My lawn has weeds, as long as they blend in and are green that is fine with me. Getting to old to bend over and pick weed. That was my summer job for my parent's flower beds and garden.
LOBSTER DAY - I love lobster especially when it is served on our cruises and free, If I purchased lobster tails from a seafood store to cook at home, there would be trouble, I know that for sure. I'll save my cravings for another day or when I am invited for a lobster feast.
For us droppers of the world, today we celebrate "KITCHEN KLUTZES OF AMERICA DAY." I'm a klutz in any room of our house, especially with potato chips on the floor or ice from the refrigerator going all over the place. Have no fear for today we are allowed to be klutzes in general with no reprimand from the little lady of the house. Some of you heard various names to this holiday such as butterfingers, dub, lummox and spaz. Ignore those words on this day and if you break a dish, grab the glue or make it a mosaic piece of art.
TURKEY LOVER'S MONTH - I love turkey on Thanksgiving but with only two of us in the house we prepare a few Cornish Game Hens with all the fixings. Another favorite of mine is a roasted hot turkey sandwich with tons of gravy, mashed potatoes and peas.
GET HUNGRY SPEAKIES AND HAVE A SAFE DAY.
