Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE MARINES AND POLAKS TODAY

Happy Hump Day Once Again Speakies:

Well the work week is half over and the sun is shining bright in Central Florida with temps to reach the 80’s today with a nice breeze, my kind of day. I would like to wish all my Guys and Dolls who are celebrating a birthday or an anniversary to have a wonderful day, and enjoy it with the ones you love. I found a few birthdays today to poke some fun at so let’s see who we have:

Lady Digby – haven’t got a clue who she is and really don’t care.

Peter Fonda – that Easy Rider guy.

Lord Ezra – probably Lady Digby’s husband.

Fred Biletnikoff – wide receiver from the Oakland Raiders. This one is for you Mack (Mack’s favorite team is the Raiders.)

Naruhito – crown prince of Japan, fuki yaki saki want some seafood.

Stuff That Happened Today:

1836 – The Alamo is besieged by Santa Anna. The boys hold out for days before falling to a better fate.

1846 – Polish revolutionaries march on Krakow, but are knocked down. The Polaks gave it a gallant try.

1945 – US Marines raise flag on Iwo Jima, famous photo taken on second flag raising.

1960 – Demolition begins on Brooklyn’s Ebbets Field. Them Bums should have never left Brooklyn.

I talk about things that piss me off and I have to let you know about the most recent. For weeks now as I leave work I take a nice new road light traffic, two lanes with bike lanes on the right. Each day there are about 10 to 15 cyclists with their pretty little shorts, bike rider shirts and those alien looking helmets. Instead of using the bike lane they ride in the slow lane three deep. I wish I had one of those boxing gloves on a loaded spring like they had in the old Our Gang films. I would mount about three on my passenger side and blast them as I ride by. Oh well enough for today, have a great Hump Day and be careful out there.

Lady Digby was one of those gals you would love to invite to your party but would never, because rare is the wife with that much the sense of humor. She is said to have married 4 times and caused scandals all over Europe. Probably the best one was her fling with "King Ludwig The Mad" .. he is the guy who just built castles for the heck of it and Disney's castle is modeled after it. The setting of that castle on a cliff in Bavaria is mindblowing and the view of the farmlands that stretch out; you get the feeling of an evil baron or king watching the peasants toil below.

Lord Ezra was not fun and was a minor Brit bureaucrat who headed the National Coal Board.

So who would "Doc Z" invite to his BB-Q? :) ??

Skip: You are quite the Historian, sorry to hear Lord Ezra was not much fun. Sounds like Lady Digby was quite the lover. Digby for the BBQ invite.

And remember the .. prior to the Hanoi routine ... there was some goofy saying about not liking Henry much but being "Fonda Jane" .. ??

That Barbarella poster was a classic.

I still find it hard to believe that other Easy Rider guy is gone. One minute Dennis Hopper is telling us that the "new 70" was like the "the old 40" or something like that and the next thing he pushing petunas?

I remember Leon Fornal's (??) Polish radio show, my Slovak grandma loved it most of all.
I think it was WTTM back in the day
;)

Fred Biletnikoff was a fun player..not fast but due to stickum caught anything thrown near him. Thanks for mentioning him Joe:)

Mack I think every Polish or Slovak house had that show playing on a Sunday. Another Polish show was Bernile Kosnowski's Polka Show don't recall the station could have been WBUD that was on Sundays also. That brings back memories of Mom cooking and the music playing.

Fred B. did catch everything thrown his way, real skinny guy too.

Trivia time:

I was kind of shocked to find out that one of our rock & roll stations WIBG was started as a Christian station and you were allowed to pick the station letters back then and

W .. (all stations had to)

I Believe in God .. WIBG

Philly rock was WIBBBAGE and New York was WABC, kind of neat being able to get both major markets.
