Good Morning Guys and Dolls:
Happy Thursday to you all and hoping you had a pleasant and relaxing evening. To my readers in Jersey I know you got pounded with another snow storm; dig out and try to stay warm and safe. Two very interesting holidays today, one is food the other is of a great man and his contributions to one of life’s needed items. Today we celebrate “NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CAKE DAY” AND “NATIONAL TOILET DAY.”
Let’s deal with chocolate cake first, one of my favorite besides regular vanilla pound cake. I love chocolate cake but don’t eat a great deal of it any more. One thing about cakes for me is they have to be moist and not that dried out texture. Chocolate cake and a glass of milk is a nice evening treat. There was a chocolate cake I like when I was growing up but I can’t think of the name. It was rectangular shaped like a sponge and the texture was moist with white filling in the middle. I want to say it was made by Drake’s Cakes so any of my Speakies can come up with some names I would be grateful. So if you are a lover of chocolate and chocolate cake go out and get one today and enjoy the holiday.
Now a day to honor that Great Brit Thomas Crapper who was a plumber and founded the Thomas Crapper & Co. in London. Crapper did not invent the flush toilet but he did increase the popularity of the toilet and developed many related inventions. The quality of his products earned him and his company several Royal Warrants. Old Tom crapped out on January 27, 1910. Even though he did not invent the flush toilet his name will live on always, to me he is Mr. Toilet. How can I tell you to celebrate this great holiday the only thing I can say is “Take a Crap” for Thomas. To honor Tom the picture you see has a tree frog inside the toilet bowl. This was taken by Rosemary in our guest bathroom months ago, how the frog got in we will never know but have no fear frog lovers, I JoeyZ rescued the amphibian and set him free. ARE YOU READY FOR THIS ONE, “I DID NOT WANT A CROOKER IN MY CRAPPER.” BAROOM BOOM!
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY GANG.

Hi Joe:)
This storm was bad. Its heavy heavy
snow...its heart attack alert from shovelling snow, I hope the Burg area people have sense and take their time.
I love the smell of Chocolate cake being baked:))
You guys are really getting hit with the snow, take care and don't shovel, do they still have kids coming around asking to shovel your sidewalk?
I guess it's a good day up there for chocolate cake and coffee.
Drakes made a very dry treat. Oh! Wait? One was moist and covered with chocolate with white filling, they were about "hockey puck" sized and were Ding Dongs. Then there was the dry version with vanilla filling but no "outer" shell and they were long ... "Devil Dogs".
Glass of cold milk and three or four and a good show on the Telly and .. :)

Power did go out today. Woke up a 5 in the morning getting chilly.
I do have a back up 5000 watt generator. Bought it back in my Washington Crossing days when JCP&L would take two or three days to respond.
I have only had to use it twice since our move to Hunterdon but it is worth it. That and with my med issues the snow blower kind of drags me along on "slow" but what the heck it gets the job done.
Skip glad you had that generator with that cold up there and all that snow.
There was one called Ring Dings, Devil Dogs were like Twinkies, this cake was the size of a Tasty Kake Junior but solid chocolate cake with a cream inside. Now another fine treat is those Funny Bones made with chocolate and peanut butter covered in chocolate that with a glass of milk yes yes yes. My son is in search of those down here. Stay warm and drink heavily.
