Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

MEMORIES OF TRENTON

Good Morning Guys and Dolls: Hope you all had a pleasant Monday night and a good nights rest. Today, August 4th, we celebrate the following holidays:
National Chocolate Chip Day
Coast Guard Day
Hooray for the Kids Day – Let the little ones have fun, school is just around the corner down here in Sunny Florida.

I have been having fun with a fellow blogger Mack and some of the great guys on his site. Seems we are always on the subject of good food. We discuss burgers, tomato pies, cannoli’s and one of our favorites pork roll. My mouth waters with every comment posted, see I miss those great burgers from Rossi’s and our own Trenton, NJ tomato pies. Pork roll I can buy that here in Florida so I'm safe. So Mack and my fellow foodies, posted below is a great dish I enjoyed yesterday at Rosemary’s Italian Kitchen, along with a nice glass of red wine. For those who are asking, it's Linguine with Hot Italian Sausage. I'll be enjoying the rest at lunch today. Thanks Dear for a wonderful dinner.

Alright Speakies have a great day and if anything pops around here you'll be the first to know.

Hi Joey: Speaking of food, my brother Lou visited me in Lauderdale during 1970. We were living in a house with a canal in back. He saw me catch a big blue claw crab and immediately bought the house next door for $25,000. We all loved crabs and vermicelli and calamad (fried squid). My nephew recently sold the house for $190,000. That shows you what happened to real estate in Fort Lauderdale.

Joey: I knew a lot of people in your block of Revere Ave. Did you know the Pagliaros, how about Felix Forconi, he had a pretzel and chip business for years. Down the street was Freddy DeBronzo and Charlie Peters. I used to live on Bert Ave. in Villa Park. Regards, Ralph.

Hi Ralph: When we bought our house back in 1991, nothing around us but orchards, at least we have a nice ranch facing our home. Speaking of Revere Ave., we knew Felix, he lived 2 doors down, really a nice guy. Jack Pone in back of us taught piano. Tommy Migliccio the barber lived across from us. A Greek painter named Steve and his family lived across from us. There was a beautican named Janice, her husband and 2 boys. We were very good friends with Mike and Lena Balner, they lived on the opposite corner of Revere and Morris, an uncle lived with them, I can't remember is last name, we just called him Uncle Alphonso. Small world. Thanks Ralph.

Speaking about Revere Ave. It was our favorite street in Villa Park when we were kids. It was the ionly street that was paved with asphalt. all the others were hard gravel. All the kids skated on Revere, much to the annoyance of residents.

Ralph, I guess things will never change with kids and the people who live on their streets. The kids will be kids and some people will always complain about something. Thanks for stopping by.
