Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

HAPPY FRIDAY SPEAKIES

Happy Friday Guys and Dolls:

As my usual custom just stopping by to wish you a Happy Friday and a Great Weekend. This weekend we can raise our glasses to celebrate “WORLD TOILET DAY.” That wonderful invention by Mr. Thomas Crapper that allows us to sit on a throne, call it our office and conduct business in private.

Next week will be a short week due to the Thanksgiving Holidays, so do all your cooking needs shopping this weekend and than relax. Have a great one Speakies.

Ah! Yes, a view of the Catskills and with the door of the outhouse open, well, you just can't buy an experience like this. From high atop the ridge at the cabin the world stretches on forever. Sun coming up and fog obscures Hancock below. I can hear the rumble of the freight down in the river bottom.

I hear something else. A chewing gnawing sound and can feel the vibration under me? Mice?

What could ever be that attractive about he cross braces in the hopper of an outhouse that would lure 2 porcupines down there to chew them. Yeeeeeech.

Mark Trail I ain't.

My old buddy used to say "You, you go sleep in the woods. Me, my idea camping is a sleeping bag in the Holiday Inn.

The story about the porcupines is all too true. I ended up finally putting sheet metal on the entire outhouse. Leaving scraps of the same wood all over did nothing and gnawed the door hinge then window out of the frame to get in.

It had to be properly "seasoned" for them to dine on it.

Got gators? :)
