Luee

Luee
We adopted Luee from the Humane Society in 1996. He was 2 years old, but still a pup. He has slowed down a bit; his age is catching up to him. He is the best dog anyone could ever have. Luee had to be put to sleep on April 15, 2009. Rest in Peace Pup.

THE CITY BEAUTIFUL, THE CITY ???

Good Morning Readers,
I usually do not voice my political or religious views, but today I have to comment on the City Beautiful as Orlando, Florida is called by the local media and the powers in place. Last night on the local news, budget cuts for the city were announced. The proposed budget cuts are subject to a series of meetings and public hearings before a final city commissioners vote in October. The proposed cuts include the following:
1. A number of city police officers and firefighters. The city chief administrative officer stated that even with fewer police officers Orlando PD can do the same good job, thanks to technology. Hate to tell you, crime in Orlando is rising each day, but you idiots choose to lay off officers needed by the community. In regards to the firefighters, how many wildfires are burning throughout the state now, hope a big one does not hit, maybe the mayor can put on his firefighter costume and join in.
2. No holiday decorations this year, no tree and no city decorations. But wait everyday on the news you want to draw crowds to the city and for them to enjoy the nightlife. Christmas season, one of the busiest in the area, No Decorations good move.
3. Park maintenance, community centers and swimming pools will be scaled back. This really give the youth of our area things to do this summer. Hope crime is not one of them.
4. Here's a new one one me, we have teams who fan out and pick up litter every day. They are being cut. I guess they were doing such a fine job, because litter can always be seen everyday all over town.
This city is spending millions on building a new arena for the Orlando Magic and plans to renovate the Citrus Bowl. Plans for a high speed rail system are still on their wish list, who will use it? Parking facilities around town are at a premium, what parking measures are you planning at the proposed stations. People are angry at the toll road increases now and you think they'll pay the parking fees and cost to ride the rail line.
Orlando you have serious problems, take care of the important issues or you'll only be known as the CITY THAT COULD HAVE BEEN.
