I'm Having a DeLorenzo's Tomato Pie Meltdown

With all the talk on Macks Truck of Wisdom Blog of tomato pies, I'm still in the search here in Florida for a decent pizza. Probably the best in our area is LaForchetta and Al's. Pizza is pretty good but you have to tell them extra sauce. Down here they believe in more cheese than sauce. Man you need that crispy thin crust and sauce.

As far as Italian food, Roe and I have found that LaForchetta has good veal. Family owned from North Jersey, but we really enjoy a chain called Maggiano's. Veal Parm is excellent, good marinara sauce. They have a terrific crab cake appetizer also. So if your traveling down South try Maggiano's if located in the place you are visiting.

Maybe I should start a question and answer column for people traveling down to Florida looking for Jersey food and don't know where to go to eat. Can always call it "ASK THE PIEROGI MAN".

Not much of a start for the new week, things are going a little slow. Received a call from Dorrance Publishing, manuscript received yesterday, placing into February production today. They will send me samples of cover pages to choose from. Almost there, it's a good feeling. To my readers I'll give you the title and information when printing is complete. Have a nice day everyone.

Exciting day, manuscript is ready for publishing. Received e-mail from my publisher,wants to make February publishing date, she wants me to FedEx tomorrow to Pittsburgh. I will officially become a published author next month. Notch one bucket list thing accomplished.

JOE VERSUS THE OIL LEAK

Update on Baby's oil leak. It was approaching 3:00 p.m. on February 10, 2009 and no word received from the evil Car Care Center regarding the situation. I picked up the phone and dialed, Jim answered, "How's my car coming along", I said. Let me check was the reply. A few minutes later the voice returned, "I could not find anything, when did you drop it off". This morning I replied. Silence grew, a new voice came on, "This is Dave, your car is ready; we changed the filter and plug, but you still need the gasket seals". I advised Dave I'll be right over. Big Rich a co-worker of mine offered to drive me over in his gangster style wagon. Now Rich is of African-American descent and rather tall and Soprano style built. He would make a great enforcer figure. We laughed as we traveled to the car repair shop; I suggested Rich wear a hat and open my door when we arrived, if he had the hat he would have.

I hoped all would be well with Baby as stated by Surly Dave. Well this morning no visible signs of leakage. Hope this continues. Have a nice evening everyone.

A beautiful, warm day in Florida. Sorry to report, I had to do battle again today against the Car Care Center here at work. My baby is still leaking oil and before she is drained to the bone, the evil ones must be conquered. Once again this morning I stated my point that the car did not have any leaks prior to their changing the oil. The leak is still occuring and I want action taken. I even provided them with a cardboard box that contained a dryed oil stain from last night. Baby was left with them and I can hardly wait what new verdict will be rendered. Don't worry my readers you will learn the rest of the story. Until then have a nice day.

Not much happening today. Started working on my second book a few days ago. Added some more writing today. Some days the words flow and some days not. Time to pack up here at work and start heading home. To any readers have a nice weekend.

Nice cold day in Florida today. Had to do battle with the evil mechanics this morning. I had an oil change last week and now my car leaks. It did not before they worked on it. As I drove over to the service center I contemplated my plans of attack, demanding action immediately. I was greeted by the service representative, a surly looking fellow trying to digest his McDonald's Egg McMuffin prior to paying attention to my problem. I spoke up, presented my repair bill from last week. I was told to wait there while my car would be brought around for immediate inspection.

I could see the mechanics gather around as my vehicle was hoisted above exposing its bare essentials. "Don't hurt by baby", I cried inside as they poked her to find the damage. The door opened the service manager marched my way with a stern look about him. He uttered, "the seal is leaking, we'll repair it". In my mind how long, will there be any cost, NO it's their fault and my car will be ready in 5 minutes. About 10 minutes later my car arrived out front, keys given back to her master. The mechanic advises me that my gasket seals are leaking which may also be causing some of the problem. "Did you want me to fix it now", he said, "NO THANK YOU", I said as I headed back to work. I will now contact my son the ex-mechanic of Ford Products to evaluate the situation for his old man.

Finished editing my manuscript for the third time, sending it to the official editor this evening. Should be ready to forward to the publisher early next week. Enjoy writing it and that was something I always wanted to do.
